What did you get for your 15th birthday?

A jumper from your nan? A pair of socks from your auntie? A Playstation game from your parents?

All normal presents that you would have, no doubt, been very grateful for.

But some 15-year-olds are more fortunate than others.

None more so than a certain Youssoufa Moukoko.

That’s because the Borrusia Dortmund wonderkid was sent gifts by a certain Lionel Messi for his birthday.

Moukoko turned 15 on Wednesday and waiting for him at the training ground was a personalised gift from the GOAT.

"Oh my god! Got this as a gift from my idol. Many thanks, Leo Messi. Thanks for all your birthday wishes," the teenage prodigy posted on Instagram.

In the image, Moukoko is holding up a photograph on Messi while behind him, is a frame with some more pictures of Messi. There’s also a pair of Nike trainers with ‘Youssoufa’ written on a card.

Whether Messi sent him all of those items is unknown. What’s also unknown is exactly why Messi sent him presents.

What we do know if that Moukoko is a big Barca and Messi fan.

Eagle-eyed fans will spot that Moukoko’s birthday cake features a Borussia Dortmund tier and then a Barcelona tier.

We’re sure by now that you’ve heard all about Moukoko’s exploits on the pitch.

If you haven’t, let’s explain how he’s established himself as one of the most exciting talents in world football.

At the age of 11, Moukoko played for Dortmund U15s and scored 33 goals in 21 games.

At the age of 12, Moukoko played for Dortmund U17s and scored 44 goals in 33 games.

At the age of 13, Moukoko played for Dortmund U17s and scored 46 goals in 25 games.

While this season, he has 18 goals in 11 games for Dortmund U19s.

He also became the youngest ever player in the UEFA Youth League, taking to the field against Barcelona aged 14 years, 9 months and 28 days.

Could Moukoko be the heir to Messi’s throne?

The Argentine seems to be keeping a very close eye on him, that’s for sure.
