Floyd Mayweather has announced that he is coming out of retirement in 2020.

Floyd Mayweather announced on social media that he was coming out of retirement next year, and that he's also working with Dana White for what he describes as 'another spectacular event'.

Both Mayweather and White were pictured sitting next to each other at the Los Angeles Clippers vs Boston Celtics game on Wednesday night.

One of the photos from that night was used in one of the undefeated boxer's social media posts.

He said in that post: "@danawhite and I working together again to bring the world another spectacular event in 2020. #boxing #UFC #mma #mayweatherpromotions"

A second social media post was sent out not too long after the first featuring a photo of Mayweather ready to compete. The caption for this post read: "Coming out of retirement in 2020."

Not long after this post was released, UFC's and Dana White's Instagram accounts reposted both photos.

These two posts come just mere days after Mayweather told the media that he was returning to the sport of boxing and that he was retired for good.

The 42-year-old said to the media on Tuesday, via Boxing Scene: “I’ve got calls to get back into the ring, but my health is my wealth. Boxing is a very, very brutal sport.

"In the last few years a lot of fighters have died inside that squared circle. You have got to know when to hang it up. I had a great career."

Looks like the undefeated boxer has made a U-turn on his retirement decision.

Mayweather last competed in an exhibition bout against Japanese kickboxing star Tenshin Nasukawa at the end of 2018.

Prior to that, he had his last professional boxing match against UFC's Conor McGregor in 2017, finishing with a 50-0 record.

The 42-year-old hasn't faced an actual boxer in a boxing match since September 2015, where he had a twelve round decision win over Andre Berto.

White has also been long teasing starting Zuffa Boxing, and since he has reposted Mayweather social media post, one might assume Mayweather has something to do with Zuffa Boxing once it launches.

However, this is yet to be confirmed by either party.

It looks like Mayweather is coming out of retirement in 2020. The question is, who will be his opponent?
