Football fans across the world, rejoice!

Why you ask? Because the final international break of 2019 is officially at an end, with domestic football set to return to our television screens tonight.

Over on Sky Sports, Fulham host Queens Park Rangers in a west London derby, while Borussia Dortmund take on Paderborn on BT Sport.

After yet another dull international sabbatical, the promise of any domestic tie across Europe is simply mouthwatering.

And guess what? There is not another international break until the week commencing March 23!

That means we have over four months of uninterrupted domestic action and some of the upcoming fixtures on show are just brilliant.

The Champions League

Next week, the penultimate round of group stage fixtures commence, with the final round of games the fortnight after.

Then in the middle of February and into of March, the round of last-16 kicks off and we're certain to have some spectacular ties once again.

English cup competitions

Before the next international break, the Carabao Cup will come to its conclusion, with Liverpool, Manchester and Manchester United the heavy favourites to scoop the first trophy of the English season.

The final of the competition will take place at Wembley on March 1.

But it's not just the Carabao Cup we have to look forward to, because the third round of the FA Cup officially kick off on January 4.

The fourth round will then be on January 25 and just before the international break, we have the fifth round of the cup on March 4 and the quarter-finals on March 21 - what a treat!

Not one, but TWO Clasicos

That's right, two mammoth clashes between Real Madrid and Barcelona will take place on December 18 and March 1.

Of course, there will be plenty of other big European ties on show, but you just cannot beat an El Clasico.

The final tie between Spain's dominant giants on March 1 will be joined by Juventus' clash with Inter Milan, while the second Madrid derby of the season takes place on the February 2.

It's going to be a great four months, football fans!
