Floyd Mayweather made a sensational announcement this week when he announced he is planning on coming out of retirement in 2020.

Mayweather set tongues wagging by teasing what he described as 'another spectacular event' as he hinted that he is working with Dana White in a post on social media.

Now, TMZ Sports are reporting that the 42-year-old is aiming for not just one, but two fights in 2020 - one of which could possibly be a UFC crossover.

While a lot of plans are up in the air with various names being batted about all over the place, TMZ report that a rematch with Manny Pacquiao is under very serious consideration.

Mayweather was triumphant in their original 'fight of the century' match-up and was initially against the idea of a rematch.

That has changed over the last few years however and the report claims that Mayweather feels the time is right for the two to come to blows once again.

As for the UFC rumours, it is believed that Mayweather is after another boxing match-up with a UFC star after he and White were pictured sitting together at a basketball game earlier in the week.

Rumours had been circulating that a monumental bout with Khabib Nurmagomedov was in the works, with the Russian's manager claiming that a fight was even agreed upon between the two parties.

On the other hand, Conor McGregor has always been up for a rematch and you can be sure there will be others wanting to get their hands on one of the most successful fighters ever.

In terms of dates, the report claims that Mayweather will be looking at fights in May and then again in September.

It does seem, however, that plans are very much in their infancy and could easily change as 2020 approaches.

One thing is for certain though, having Mayweather back in the game is brilliant for boxing.

The man is pure box office, and 2020 promises to be a fantastic year.
