Manchester City remain in the Premier League title race with a hard-fought 2-1 win against Chelsea.

After Liverpool and Leicester picked up all three points on Saturday afternoon, all eyes were on City's clash with Chelsea on Saturday evening.

Both sides needed a win to keep pace with runaway leaders Liverpool, who secured yet another late win against Crystal Palace.

Especially Pep Guardiola’s side who went into the clash a massive 12 points behind their title rivals.

It was clear in the opening exchanges that it was a massive match as both sides attacked.

But it was Chelsea who drew first blood through N’Golo Kante.

Just when the Blues were starting to look comfortable, City equalised as Kevin de Bruyne’s effort was deflecting in off Kurt Zouma.

Eight minutes later, City were ahead as Riyad Mahrez cut in from the right and fired a brilliant effort across Kepa Arrizabalaga into the far corner.

The second-half was less frantic but it was 45 minutes that City dominated really.

The home side had numerous opportunities to put the game beyond Frank Lampard's side but missed chance after chance.
