One question that seemingly won't go away in the boxing heavyweight division is; who would win in a fight between Deontay Wilder and a peak Mike Tyson?

There's been plenty of debate about the dream fight in recent months, with boxing forums asking for opinions and even simulators being done on Fight Night games to see who would get the win.

However, after Wilder produced yet another vicious knockout in his rematch with Luis Ortiz for the WBC championship, another question has now emerged.

'Who has the hardest punch between Mike Tyson and Deontay Wilder?'

Both heavyweights are knockout specialists, but out of the two of them, who has the more powerful punch?

During his 58-fight career, 'Iron Mike', who was also known as 'The Baddest Man On The Planet', picked up 50 wins, and an impressive 44 of those came via knockout.

As for Wilder, he's currently at 42 fights in his career and has earned himself 41 wins. FORTY of those wins have come via knockout.

Bermane Stiverne is the only boxer to lose to Wilder, but after managing to go the distance with him. And we all know what happened in the other fight against Tyson Fury.

So just by looking at their records alone, you can tell that both Mike Tyson and Deontay Wilder have unbelievable power inside their gloves, but boxing fans are now debating who has the more powerful strike.

One Twitter account under the alias of @holdtheaction simply asked the question: 'Who has more powerful Punch in heavyweight division ever ? Wilder - retweet Mike Tyson - like'

It received only a small 147 retweets backing the Bronze Bomber, but a staggering 1.7k likes - showing that large portions of the boxing community still believe Tyson has the more powerful punch.

However, plenty of people responded to the tweet and shared their own opinions.

Jay Giurleo said: "Foreman had the hardest punch ever but Wilder is a close second. Tyson was also up their BUT a lot of Tyson’s power came from perfect placement and twisting hips. Foreman and Wilder could be off balance and still knock a guy out."

Walter said: "Tyson was a way better boxer but my god wilder just literally walked around the ring for 20 mins and only threw one real punch. Wilder definitely has the most devastating right hand."

However, James Raymond Jr doesn't feel the fighters belong in the same sentence, tweeting: "Let’s not become a prisoner of the moment...Wilder doesn’t deserve to be in the same sentence as Tyson. Keep in mind the last fight Wilder had with Ortiz...Ortiz was on the verge of knocking Wilder out! #Savedbythebell. Tyson kept his opponents on the defensive-Dude was vicious!"

As for Scott Zahn, the answer was simple: "Tyson. All day. Everyday and twice on Sunday!!"
