The 2019 Ballon d'Or ceremony is right around the corner - Monday, December 2nd to be precise.

It's likely to be one of the more interesting awards in years, as no one can quite make their mind up on who should win it.

There's the obvious choice, of course - Lionel Messi.

Messi has had a fairly incredible 2019, virtually carrying Barcelona to yet another La Liga title and racking up goals and assists along the way.

Then there's Cristiano Ronaldo, who along with winning Serie A, also helped Portugal to the inaugural UEFA Nations League.

Along with those two are a few Liverpool players, whose Champions League win puts them in a very strong position.

There's Alisson, hoping to be the first goalkeeper to win the award since Lev Yashin in 1963, backed by also winning the Copa America with Brazil.

Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane both won the Premier League Golden Boot, while Mane came incredibly close to winning the Africa Cup of Nations, too.

Then Virgil van Dijk - arguably the favourite, alongside Messi, and the undisputed talisman behind Liverpool's success.

Everyone will have their favourite, including another player on the list: Real Madrid's Eden Hazard.

"I would give it to a Liverpool player," he told Le Parisien. "Mane, Salah or Van Djik deserve it.

"If Sadio had won AFCON with Senegal, there would have been no debate. It would be beautiful if he won it.

"Or Momo [Salah], who is one of my friends. It would be a good thing for both African and English football."

So Hazard has his three picks - although, everyone looks at this one differently.

It's why it promises to be a very interesting night in one week's time.
