While Raw, SmackDown, and NXT faced each other last night at Survivor Series for brand supremacy, one notable NXT name wasn't present on the show, Mauro Ranallo.Raw, SmackDown, and NXT each had at one member of their commentary team calling each brand supremacy match at Survivor Series. However, while SmackDown's Michael Cole and Raw's Vic Joseph each called matches, Mauro Ranallo wasn't there to do the same.Cole explained on commentary during Survivor Series before the NXT Championship match of Adam Cole vs Pete Dunne that Ranallo wasn’t present at Survivor Series because he blew his voice out on commentary the night before at NXT TakeOver: WarGames. The SmackDown commentator added as well that Ranallo would be back at the announce table for NXT next Wednesday, but his absence was felt by WWE fans.

Ranallo's absence goes against what Triple H said during the WarGames media call, as he explained that members of the NXT commentary team would likely be present during matches involving the black and yellow brand.

Beth Phoenix and Nigel McGuinness were still present to represent NXT, and Cole filled in for Ranallo for play-by-play commentary during the NXT title match.

During Survivor Series, WWE fans showed their love for Ranallo on Twitter, as he has been public about his mental health problems in the past.

Mauro had deleted his Twitter account sometime after WarGames, but this didn't stop fans from sending their love in his direction.

Ranallo deleting his Twitter account comes after SmackDown's Corey Graves directed a tweet at him criticising his commentary at WarGames, claiming he didn't talk to Phoenix and McGuinness enough.

The SmackDown commentator said on Twitter: "Just for the record guys, I know you wouldn't know it, but there's actually a WWE Hall of Famer AND a former Ring of Honor Champion on commentary. I'd imagine they have a lot to offer."

When someone asked Graves how many Chicago rap references Ranallo had made, he replied: "Far, far too many."

Graves' tweets have received backlash from many WWE fans, including from Mauro's agent and friend Frank Shamrock.

Shamrock sent the SmackDown commentator a tweet with a picture that said: "Social media has made too many of you comfortable with disrespecting people and not getting punched in the mouth for it."

Fingers crossed Ranallo is able to return to the NXT commentary table soon as the black and yellow brand isn't the same without him.
