Deontay Wilder certainly proved his point on Saturday night after producing yet another stunning knockout victory against Luis Ortiz to defend his WBC title.Wilder has continued to live by his mantra that he can win in two seconds, and that came so true yet again as he saw off the Cuban in their rematch. Before the fight, Wilder said: "As I always say, these guys have to be perfect for 12 rounds, I only need to be perfect for two seconds, and then in the blink of an eye it's bam baby, goodnight!"Wilder was under performing in the fight on Saturday and was down on every scorecard, but in the seventh round, he landed a brutal right hand to knock out Ortiz. It has become a recurring theme for Wilder to be behind on the scorecards before delivering a brutal finish.

During the Tyson Fury fight in 2018, Fury outboxed Wilder for long spells too, but the sheer power of the American scored him a couple of knockdowns, which was able to earn him a controversial draw.

Wilder responded by saying: "To be honest, I never worry about if I’m losing the fight or not, I’ve been blessed with something these other guys haven’t been blessed with, and that’s tremendous power.

"I know that when I hit guys, it hurts them. When you have power like I have, you’re not worried about whether you’re winning rounds or not.”

Wilder's 'two-second' theory has come true yet again, and this will certainly act as a warning for Fury who looks likely to face Wilder in February.

Wilder has no plans of changing his powerful style and said: “I am the most devastating knockout artist in the heavyweight division by far, when you’re fighting me, you have to be careful.”

As Mike Tyson famously said: “Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth."

Wilder's future opponents should all take note, and try and land the knockout sooner rather than later.
