Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's reign as the Manchester United boss has been quite a roller coaster.

Initially brought in on an interim basis, Solskjaer absolutely nailed his interview by breaking the record for the most points ever won by a new manager in their opening ten league games.

In that time, United kept six clean sheets, conceding just 6 goals while scoring 26 of their own, ultimately winning eight games and drawing two.

United went from one of the most exciting sides in the league to the butt of the joke in the space of just a few weeks and now Solskjaer's very job hangs in the balance.

If the Norweigan can't find a way to arrest the downward spiral, he could soon become the fourth United manager to be shown the door since the culmination of the Sir Alex Ferguson era.

Since the legendary Scot called time on his remarkable career in the Old Trafford hot seat, the club hasn't come close to finding someone capable of filling his massive shoes.

His mighty shadow has loomed ominously over all who have tried to take his place and Solskjaer could be next in a long line of managers who have tried and failed to pick up Ferguson's mantle.

David Moyes, Louis van Gaal and Jose Mourinho have all come and gone as the club slid out of contention for titles.

Poor old Moyes was probably handed the toughest task of them all though, brought in as Ferguson's immediate successor.

It did not go well for the former Everton man who was given the sack after just ten months in charge.

His time at the Theatre of Dreams is not fondly remembered by the Old Trafford faithful but a recent statistic might just prove that he wasn't as big a villain as some might paint him out to be.

In fact, according to the above tweet from the Mirror, Solskjaer and Moyes have near-identical records following their first 34 games in charge of the club, with both men winning 57 points.

Let's remember that Solskjaer won 26 points out of the first 30 available to him, meaning that he has claimed just 31 of the next 72 on offer since that remarkable run.

That is a rather startling statistic for anyone involved with the club.

After yet another disappointing draw away to Sheffield United on Sunday, the simple fact of the matter is that something has to change at United.

Unless he can pull off some kind of miracle, you can't help but feel that Ole will soon be sent packing by the club.
