Unai Emery's job as Arsenal manager is hanging by a thread.

After yet another woeful display from the Gunners on Saturday against Southampton, the writing is on the wall for the Spaniard.

The point gained from that 2-2 draw was totally undeserved, with Arsenal yet to put in a single decent performance in the Premier League this season.

In their last six league games, Arsenal have managed just one win and that was a drab 1-0 victory over Bournemouth, a game which the Cherries deserved to win instead.

If Emery is to keep his job, he will have to mastermind one of the greatest managerial turnarounds in history.

But let's be truthful, thats not going to happen and the new favourite to succeed him is none other than Wolves manager, Nuno Espirito Santo.

SkyBet now have the Portuguese at just 6/4 to be the next permanent Arsenal boss, with Mikel Arteta the second favourite at 7/2.

You can view the 10 favourites for the job below.

ODDS ON ARSENAL'S NEXT PERMANENT MANAGER

  • Nuno Espirito Santo - 6/4
  • Mikel Arteta - 7/2
  • Rafa Benitez - 5/1
  • Max Allegri - 6/1
  • Maurico Pochettino - 6/1
  • Freddie Ljungberg - 8/1
  • Eddie Howe - 12/1
  • Patrick Vieira - 12/1
  • Brendan Rodgers - 20/1
  • Steven Gerrard - 20/1

Imagine the media circus if Gerrard took the job!

Espirito Santo's reputation as a manager has grown exponentially during his time in Wolverhampton.

With a decent budget behind him and a circle of talented players from his homeland, the Portuguese has turned Wolves into one of the Premier League's finest teams.

They finished seventh last season, qualifying for the Europa League and currently sit fifth despite a shaky start to the season.

His team play exciting, expansive football, score goals for fun and - more importantly - Espirito Santo gets the best out of his players.

All things that Emery has failed to do as Arsenal boss, so Gunners fans should be praying that there is some substance to the shift in the odds market.
