It's been a turbulent decade for Arsenal.

Arsene Wenger had a number of poor players at his disposal at the start of the 2010s but somehow managed to keep qualifying for the Champions League.

However, he wasn't able to keep that streak up, with Arsenal finally ending their run of finishing in the top four in the 2016/17 season.

Now under Unai Emery, the Gunners are at their worst this decade.

They are currently eighth in the Premier League having won just four of their opening 13 games. Arsenal look set to miss out on the Champions League once again and Emery is on the brink of being sacked.

As the decade comes to a close, we've decided to take a look at the worst team to feature for Arsenal from 2010-2020.

GK: Manuel Almunia

Arsenal have had some poor goalkeepers over the years and Almunia was arguably the worst.

Amazingly, after signing in 2004, the Spanish goalkeeper would make 175 appearances for the club.

He eventually lost his place at the start of the decade and his error-prone stint finally came to an end in 2012 when he was released.

RB: Stephan Lichtsteiner

The veteran was signed last summer but he had a poor campaign.

He made just 23 appearances for the club as he found first-team opportunities hard to come by.

He lasted just the one season at Arsenal as he was released in June.

CB: Sebastien Squillaci

One of Wenger's worst ever signings came in the shape of Squillaci for £4 million.

He was initially first-choice but soon fell down the pecking order after some dismal performances.

The Frenchman was fit and available to play for the majority of the 2011/12 and 2012/13 seasons but only played seven times in that time period.

It came as no surprise when Arsenal decided to release him in the summer of 2013.

CB: Shkodran Mustafi

Mustafi has had a nightmare at Arsenal. He was highly rated at Valencia, prompting the Gunners to pay £35 million for him in 2016.

But he hasn't even played like a £5 million player, let alone £35 million.

His time at Arsenal seems to be coming to an end as he's yet to feature in the Premier League this season.

LB: Andre Santos

Santos was terrible. There's no arguing otherwise.

As well as his performances on the pitch, Santos even managed to wind up fans by swapping shirts with Robin Van Persie at half-time in a match against Man United.

That proved to be the final straw for fans and Wenger. He was shipped out on loan to Brazil a few months later and left the club permanently the following summer.

RM: Denis Suarez

There was a lot of excitement surrounding Suarez when he signed on loan from Barcelona.

You could tell he was a good player but he lacked the physicality needed to succeed in the Premier League.

He made just six appearances for the club.

CM: Granit Xhaka

Xhaka isn't actually that bad on the ball. But his poor decision making and rash challenges saw his relationship with Arsenal fans decline.

And that relationship completely fractured when Xhaka responded to boos from his own fans by telling them to 'f*** off'.

Xhaka has since been stripped of the captaincy and looks almost certain to leave in January.

CM: Kim Kallstrom

This was just a really bizarre signing.

After joining in January 2014, it took the Swedish midfielder a few months to make his debut.

He would make just four appearances and failed to impress.

LM: Gervinho

Gervinho's goalscoring exploits for Lille convinced Arsenal to pay £10.8 million for him in 2011.

But he failed to hit the heights expected of him and he left for Roma in 2013.

ST: Yaya Sanogo

Sanogo was very poor. He was only 20 when he joined, so you can defend him by saying he was only young.

He scored just one goal for Arsenal in 20 appearances before leaving permanently in 2017.

ST: Marouane Chamakh

The Moroccan had a fairly decent start to his Arsenal career but that all fell apart quite quickly.

He played 23 times and scored three goals in his final two seasons with the club.

Honourable mentions:

Emmanuel Eboue

In a game against Wigan, Eboue was brought on as a substitute. His cameo was so bad that Arsenal fans booed him and Wenger had to take him off.

Johan Djourou

It's actually quite impressive that Djourou survived 11 years at Arsenal.

Carl Jenkinson

Jenkinson lived and breathed Arsenal, which made him a bit of a cult hero.

Sadly, he wasn't up to the standard required of an Arsenal player.

His eight-year spell at the club finally came to an end this summer when he was released.

Emmanuel Frimpong

Frimpong made 16 appearances for the club but failed to make the grade. He went to play in Sweden and Cyprus, which says it all really.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan

The Armenian wasn't terrible, but Arsenal expected a lot of him given he was Alexis Sanchez's replacement.

He scored nine times in 58 games for the club and is currently on loan at Roma.

Park Chu Young

You could argue that he just wasn't given a chance, but the South Korean wasn't very good in his six appearances for Arsenal.

Arsenal have had some really, really poor players in the past few years.

If this lot played together they would undoubtedly get relegated from the Premier League.
