Infinity Ward have released the Season One roadmap for the upcoming free ‘Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’ reboot, and its contents are mind-blowing.

If you’re trying not to burst with excitement before December 3 - the update’s release date - we’d recommend that you brace yourselves right about now.

The video game developer has announced that three legendary maps from ‘Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare’ will be making their long-awaited return – ‘Crash’, ‘Vacant’ and ‘Shipment’.

If you’re clued up on your CoD maps, you’ll know ‘Crash’ and ‘Shipment’ to be two of the best that those geniuses at Infinity Ward have ever created.

‘Vacant’ might be more divisive, but you’d still be hard-pressed to find anyone complaining at its inclusion within Season One of the new ‘Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’.

If you’re still yet to be convinced, don’t worry - the reboot’s first roadmap has even more to offer.

It will firstly introduce players to a new Ground War map called ‘Port’, as well as two new Gunfight maps – ‘Cargo’ and ‘Atrium’.

Three new multiplayer modes will also make their debut – ‘Reinforce’, ‘Gunfight OSP’ and ‘Infected’. Interestingly, we know nothing more about these than their names at this stage.

Brand new weapons have also been promised, including the bullpup style rifle RAM-7 and the Holger-26, alongside fresh Spec-Ops content in ‘Bomb Squad’, ‘Grounded’ and ‘Just Reward’.

To win over the harshest of critics, it is worth restating two important things at this point about the new ‘Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’.

Firstly, the developers are providing all of this for free. They have listened to the demands of short and long-term CoD fans, and will be delivering what they want with no charge.

And secondly, the exciting features outlined here don’t even cover everything that Season One will offer you lucky players – even more has been promised.

So, make sure to keep December 3 in your calendars, phones, laptops - whatever. You won’t want to miss this.
