Carlisle central defender Lubo Michalik will miss his side's home clash with Exeter.

The Slovakia international was forced out of Saturday's 1-0 win at Swindon due to a hamstring strain and replacement Danny Livesey is expected to make only his second league start of the season.

Cumbrians manager Greg Abbott must decide whether to recall on-loan QPR defender Gary Borrowdale to his starting line-up after keeping faith with Matty Robson at left-back.

Winger Robson has done an impressive job in the back four while standing in and Borrowdale started on the substitutes' bench on Saturday after missing the previous game through suspension.

Abbot has no other new injury or suspension problems as his side look to make up further ground on the top six following back-to-back away victories.

Exeter are waiting on the fitness of Richard Duffy ahead of the long trip.

The full-back lasted just 11 minutes of the impressive 3-1 win at Charlton on Saturday before going off after injuring himself in an aerial challenge, so Liam Sercombe is in line to start at Brunton Park.

Sercombe replaced Duffy at the Valley and scored the opener with a powerful finish from the edge of the area.

Midfielder Jake Thompson has missed the last two games with a knock picked up in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy Southern area final defeat to Brentford and is a doubt again to feature.

Paul Tisdale's side could climb into the top 10 if they pick up a win from the near 700-mile round trip.
