A YouTube video showing various famous footballers’ last goals scored for their teams has gone viral.

The eight-minute video, uploaded by JackieMT, features the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Wayne Rooney, Zinedine Zidane and Cristiano Ronaldo.

It shows their last goals for particular clubs - Ronaldo’s final goal for Real Madrid, for example - and it’s a fantastic watch.

Footballers never know which goal might be their last for their teams. It could come on their last ever appearance, or it could come six months beforehand.

As we all know, there are no guarantees in football.

Before we get to the video, we’ve picked out our favourite five goals from it…

5. Kaka (AC Milan)

A stunning curling effort from just inside the box from the Brazilian Brazilian, who played the best football of his career with AC Milan.

The goalkeeper was already on the deck by the time the ball hit the net.

4. Lukas Podolski (Germany)

An unbelievable long-range strike from Podolski on his 130th and final appearance for Germany.

That he scored it against England must have made it taste all the sweeter.

3. David Beckham (Man Utd)

Beckham scored a lot of sensational free-kicks during his career - but this was right up there with the best of them.

It’s rare to see a free-kick struck into the top corner from the opposite side of the pitch. Magnificent strike.

2. Vincent Kompany (Man City)

Cometh the hour, cometh the man. Kompany stepped up when Man City desperately needed a hero towards the end of last season, slamming home an unstoppable long-range strike to give his team a precious 1-0 victory over Leicester City.

1. Ronaldinho (Barcelona)

It’s incredibly fitting that Ronaldinho’s final goal for Barcelona was an outrageous bicycle kick.

We’ve also taken a look at some of the comments - and here are a few of our favourites…

There’s something a little sad about watching the final goals scored by legendary players for their teams.

But it’s also hard not to watch some of these goals while smiling.

All good things must come to an end, after all.
