Manny Pacquiao is set to return to the ring in spring 2020, and has his eyes firmly fixed on a re-match with Floyd Mayweather.

The Filipino suffered a unanimous decision defeat to the 42-year old in Las Vegas back in 2015.

Mayweather will make a comeback in 2020, and is likely to schedule two fights, with a Pacquiao re-match reportedly lined up for September.

The 40-year old has already dispatched both Adrien Broner and Keith Thurman this year, and is now in the middle of a temporary hiatus while he undertakes his senatorial duties in his home country.

Pacquiao has served in his home country’s upper-house since 2016.

Ahead of a possible clash with Mayweather, Pacquiao has reportedly lined up three possible opponents, Danny Garcia, Mikel Garcia, and Shawn Porter.

Shawn Porter, who was defeated by Errol Spence Jr. back in September for the IBF and WBC titles welterweight titles

Danny and Mike Garcia are set to met one another on January 25th, meaning a bout with the defeated Porter is more likely.

Sean Gibbons, president of MP promotions confirmed that Pacquiao was considering next steps, but affirmed that Mayweather was the real target.

“He’s going to sort out what the next step is. [Danny] Garcia, [Shawn] Porter or if Mikey [Garcia] is still floating around.

“The real pot at the end of the rainbow is Mayweather. Now all of a sudden you have Floyd Mayweather saying, ‘Hey, I’m coming back in 2020, I’m doing two fights, and ones a senator."
