With SmackDown not coming out on top at Survivor Series, it clearly needed to his the refresh button and we saw not one or two, but THREE returns last night in Birmingham, Alabama.Firstly Elias appeared backstage, armed with his guitar, and played a song degrading Drake Maverick, having been away since September due to an ankle injury. And Alexa Bliss also made a return to television, saving her partner Nikki Cross from Fire & Desire after being out of action since the beginning of October. But there's a WWE superstar who has pretty much done it all in his 10 years with the company that has spent a lot longer on the shelf. However last night, that very man made his re-appearance on WWE television.

Emerging from the shadows, Sheamus cut a pre-taped promo announcing his impending return, and it looks like he's going to be a bad guy.

The Celtic Warrior branded the current blue brand roster 'misfits and cowards', calling out 'The Fiend' Bray Wyatt, Shorty G and King Corbin specifically.

Sheamus declared that SmackDown would be his and with a menacing look on his face, said he was going to 'ravage' anyone who stood in his way.

The Irishman's future looked unclear earlier this year as it had been reported that there were no signs of him being cleared for a return to the ring.

Sheamus revealed months ago that he had no idea when he was returning and that he basically had some 'time off', and it seemed like he was just waiting for WWE to come back to him with some creative plans.

It looks like they've now found something for him, and it would be great for him if he could claim the one belt that has evaded him in his career - the Intercontinental Championship.

And whilst some fans wouldn't mind him re-uniting The Bar with Cesaro, it looks like Sheamus is focusing on himself for the time being at least.
