Fresh reports have emerged suggesting Liverpool will launch a summer move for Wigan winger Charles N'Zogbia.

Latics boss Roberto Martinez has previously quashed speculation linking N'Zogbia with a move away from the club but he reportedly remains a target for Liverpool.

According to The People - who had previously alleged that Liverpool had entered negotiations with Wigan for the Frenchman - the Reds continue to monitor the progress of the 24-year-old; something concurred by and Yahoo Xtra Sport.

Liverpool are thought to be long-term admirers of the former Newcastle attacker and Kenny Dalglish is understood to have previously been to the DW Stadium to watch him at close quarters.

Damien Comolli - the Liverpool director of football strategy - has also been on record to explain that Liverpool lack penetration from wide areas of the pitch and, hence, were on the lookout for more potent wing options.

N'Zogbia is reported to be keen on a move to Anfield and, should Liverpool reignite their interest when the transfer window reopens, a fee of £9 million would appear to be enough for Wigan to seriously consider.

Liverpool have also been linked with Aston Villa's Ashley Young and Ivory Coast international Gervinho in their pursuit of attacking reinforcements.
