Jurgen Klopp is working absolute miracles at Liverpool right now.

Their 2-1 win against Brighton & Hove Albion extended their lead at the Premier League summit to 11 points and means they've gone a staggering 31 league games without defeat.

Not since the title-deciding loss at Manchester City in January have Liverpool failed to pick up a single point - and it's a streak that moves them closer to Premier League history.

That's because 31 matches stands as the third longest unbeaten run the competition has ever seen and one game clear of the streak that Pep Guardiola curated during his first and second City years.

So, in honour of this step towards the record books, you can take a look at the 10 greatest unbeaten streaks in Premier League history, according to data collected by Goal.

=9. Nottingham Forest (1995) - 25 matches

A surprising team to start off the list, but Forest never looked back in the 1994-95 season after losing 1-0 at Highbury, proceeding to finish the campaign with nine wins and four draws.

And after finishing third in the Premiership, they carried that form through the summer and went unbeaten until November 25 when Blackburn Rovers spoiled the party in a 7-0 annihilation.

=9. Manchester United (2016-17) - 25 matches

Sorry Jose Mourinho fans, but this is probably the worst unbeaten run on the list, featuring no less than TWELVE draws out of the 25 games they went without defeat.

The 4-0 bludgeoning at Stamford Bridge and a 2-0 loss at Arsenal bookmarked the start and end of the run, although they did manage to claim Chelsea and Tottenham's scalps during their streak.

=6. Manchester United (2010-11) - 29 matches

This might be the closest we've come to seeing a team challenge Arsenal's 'Invincible' year as United went until February 5 without a loss in the 2010-11 season.

Their streak started after a 2-1 loss at home to Chelsea and it wasn't until a shock defeat at Wolves more than 10 months later that their shot at history came crashing down.

=6. Chelsea (2007-08) - 29 matches

Avram Grant doesn't get the credit he deserves for his time at Chelsea, suffering just two Premier League defeats with the Blues and avoiding any at all after losing to Arsenal on December 16.

That superb end to the season, which featured 15 victories and six draws, was briefly continued after the summer by Luiz Felipe Scolari who opened up with nine matches without defeat.

=6. Manchester United (1998-99) - 29 matches

Ah, the treble winners. Sir Alex Ferguson spearheaded a rampant charge to the 1998-99 Premier League title with no defeats after December 19 as well as Champions League and FA Cup victories.

That season was then followed up by one of United's greatest ever title-winning sides who, after starting off with six wins and three draws, suffered a shocking 5-0 defeat at Chelsea.

=4. Manchester City (2017-18) - 30 matches

Guardiola finally got a handle on his first season at Etihad Stadium by going unbeaten after their 2-1 defeat at Chelsea, only to open the following campaign in even better style.

Not only did the Citizens go until the following January without picking up less than a point each game, but Guardiola's side won a remarkable 20 of their opening 22 fixtures. Incredible.

=4. Arsenal (2001-02) - 30 matches

Before Arsenal went on their 'Invincible' streak the following year, they enjoyed a similar run after winning the 2001-02 Premier League crown with 13 victories in their final 13 fixtures.

Arsene Wenger then declared that Arsenal could go unbeaten the following season, but back-to-back losses against Everton and Blackburn halted them at 30 games.

3. Liverpool (2019) - 31 matches

The reason we're even talking about this topic. Liverpool stumbled their way through four draws in six games near the backend of last season, but still went unbeaten after their January 3 loss to City.

Now, they've followed up with a record-breaking start in 2019-20, winning 13 of their first 14 games and exacting revenge on the Citizens with a 3-1 victory at Anfield. Watch out, Arsenal.

2. Chelsea (2004-05) - 40 matches

The next rung on the ladder for Liverpool to climb and the biggest ever threat to the 'Invincibles', this astonishing streak marked the perfect start for Jose Mourinho at Chelsea.

The Blues lost just one game in 2004-05, dating back to October 16 away to City, and it wasn't until the November of the following year that the clean sheet-ladened run came to an end.

1. Arsenal (2003-04) - 49 matches

The only unbeaten run to span three seasons. Arsenal closed out 2002-03 with two rampant wins, before making history by going the entire 2003-04 campaign without a loss (26 wins, 12 draws).

And with a unique golden Premier League trophy in tow, they started the defence of their crown with eight victories and a draw before coming unstuck at Old Trafford in October.

GIVEMESPORT's Kobe Tong says

If you think Liverpool's streak is incredible at the moment, let this serve as an opportunity to remember how otherworldly Arsenal's run of results were between 2003 and 2004.

Not only are the 'Invincibles' nine matches clear of Mourinho's Chelsea in second place, but a gargantuan 18 games - nearly half a Premier League season - in front of Klopp's side.

Sure, Arsenal picked up more draws in their respective lossless run, but make no mistake that Wenger achieved something that will go down in footballing history.

Liverpool now have a run of fixtures that should ensure they push towards the silver medal.

However, I'm inclined to think that Liverpool's defensive blips, which have seen their clean sheet record take a slight plunge, will hold them back from achieving 'Invincible' status.
