In the space of just over a week, north London was rocked by the sackings of Tottenham Hotspur’s Mauricio Pochettino and Unai Emery at Arsenal.

Spurs were quick to capture their successor, appointing Jose Mourinho as their new Head Coach just 24 hours later.

However, it’s proving to be a different story for their local rivals who are yet to find a replacement with Freddie Ljungberg occupying the role in a caretaker capacity.

Names have been thrown around regarding the vacant Arsenal job including Leicester City’s Brendan Rodgers and former Juventus boss Max Allegri.

And another man very much in the frame is Pochettino in a move that will undoubtedly spark controversy.

However, former Spurs midfielder Jermaine Jenas feels the recently sacked boss is better than Arsenal and should hold off for teams like Manchester United, Bayern Munich or Real Madrid.

Speaking to BT Sport, he said: “Arsenal's a huge football club and I'm sure the wages would be great for Mauricio. I put myself in his shoes though and would say his stock is far higher than that personally.

“I think the job he did at Tottenham puts him in another bracket. I think if I was Mauricio I'd be sat there going well I'll have six months off to recuperate and rest as I have been working non-stop for six years.

“Come the end of the season there's a good chance that Man Utd might ring the phone, Bayern Munich or Real Madrid.”

Jenas also went on to label the Arsenal job as unattractive and criticised the club’s planning following Emery’s sacking:

“The Arsenal job I don't think is one that's attractive personally. Have they got the money to spend there's a lot of uncertainty there.

“Even this decision (to sack Emery) they've taken now feels like a knee jerk reaction. There doesn't seem to be any planning or direction to what they want in a manager in the first place.”
