Leicester sent the King Power stadium into rapture thanks to Kelechi Iheanacho's 93rd-minute winner against Everton - but spare a thought for the Toffees. Marco Silva is on the brink of being sacked with his side dangling just two points and one place above the drop zone. The expression on his face as VAR overturned the linesman's original offside told a thousand words. At the other end of the table though, Leicester look like serious title contenders as they moved to within eight points of pace-setters Liverpool. It was an absolutely scintillating finale for the neutral, including those on commentary.

The problem was, not all of them were really 'neutrals' at all.

Sky Sports had none other than Jamie Carragher shrieking with joy into the microphone as Everton suffered a third defeat in five league games.

To be fair to the former Liverpool centre-back, his job is to narrate what he sees - and who doesn't love a bit of late VAR drama?

You might say, however, that he showed his true colours - blazing red, for the avoidance of doubt - by revelling in Everton's misery.

Have a listen to Carragher after the goal was given:

Plenty of fans began to pick up on it and by full-time, the pundit's name was trending on Twitter.

Martin Tyler was included in plenty of the criticism too.

For Liverpool supporters, there's been plenty of the aforementioned misery at Goodison Park to enjoy too.

Incidentally, ahead of the game, Carragher did give a slightly more balanced view in his Telegraph column on the club.

He used that to question exactly what level Everton can be expected to compete at and the implications that has for their - presumably ongoing - search for a new manager.

Silva has overseen just four wins in 14 this season as Everton have been plagued by defensive ineptitude, while down the road their rivals sit top.

It's a glorious time to be a Liverpool fan right now and Carragher isn't even trying to hide it.
