Punters win £160,000 on incredible £8, 10-game bet

Four punters have scooped a huge £160,000 on a £8 bet placed on 10 matches.

The group, led by Jason Wardley on Twitter, bet on ‘Goals Galore No Draw’, meaning both teams had to score and there had to be a winner in each match.

After the first nine matches came through, the bet came down to the FA Cup clash between Blackpool and Maidstone on Sunday afternoon.

Maidstone scored in the 29th minute but three goals from Blackpool in the second half secured them a 3-1 win and Jason and his pals £160,000.

They plan to split their winnings four-ways, meaning £40,000 each.

Not bad from just £8.

The bet included games in the Championship, FA Cup, La Liga and Premier League.

Check out the full list of games below.

  • Liverpool 2-1 Brighton
  • Bristol City 5-2 Huddersfield
  • Stoke 1-2 Blackburn
  • Wigan 1-3 Reading
  • Portsmouth 2-1 Altrincham
  • Ebbsfleet 2-1 Wrexham
  • Torquay 1-5 Stockport
  • Dundee 1-2 Queen of South
  • Real Sociedad 4-1 Eibar
  • Blackpool 3-1 Maidstone United

There were no doubt some nervy moments for Jason and his friends.

Liverpool were 2-0 up against Brighton with just over 10 minutes to go when they conceded.

But would the Seagulls have scored had Liverpool’s Alisson not rushed off his line, handled the ball outside the area and been sent off?

Elsewhere, Blackburn were leading Stoke 1-0 with 10 minutes to go before two late goals turned that game into a winner.

And it looked like the bet would fall through during the Scottish Championship contest between Dundee FC and Queen of South.

The score was 1-0 to Queen of South into second half injury time, meaning both teams needed to score with just minutes remaining for the game to be a winner.

And that’s just what happened. Dundee scored in the 92nd minute but their opponents went up the other end from kick-off and scored in the 93rd minute to win 2-1.

Sometimes you need a bit of luck and the group of friends certainly got it.

Christmas has come early for Jason and his pals.
