Reports have stated Mauro Ranallo is 'doing better' after the NXT commentator missed last weekend's Survivor Series show.

NXT's Mauro Ranallo missed last Sunday's Survivor Series show following the series tweets from SmackDown's Corey Graves criticising his commentary at NXT TakeOver: WarGames.

Graves said in his tweets that Ranallo was talking too much by himself during the broadcast and that he didn't ask Nigel McGuiness and Beth Phoenix for their opinions enough.

Ranallo would end up missing Survivor Series the following night, leaving Michael Cole to explain that Ranallo 'blew his voice out' at Takeover, adding he would be back at the following Wednesday's NXT taping.

When the NXT commentator missed the NXT show the following Wednesday, WWE fans' fears were essentially confirmed, as they knew about Ranallo's struggles with mental illness.

In an update on Wrestling Observer Radio, via Wrestling Inc, Dave Meltzer has reported Ranallo 'is doing better', which is great to hear.

However, Meltzer also said he wasn't sure if Mauro would be on Wednesday's NXT or not. WWE has also been in touch with the NXT announcer. Tom Phillips filled in for him on NXT this past week.

Graves has also issued an apology since his tweets, and many also believe he made the comments to set up a story with Ranallo the following night at Survivor Series along the lines of the brand supremacy booking.

He said on his podcast: "This past Saturday, during the Takeover: WarGames event, I sent out a tweet. It was an unpopular opinion, as I often do with the intention of just stirring up a little controversy, maybe have something fun to talk about on TV or here on the show.

"It was maybe not the most professional way to go about things, and it was never meant to offend or disrespect or disparage anybody. That was never my intention. If it was taken as such, I apologize deeply. That was not my intention.

"I would never intentionally cause anybody undue stress, especially a co-worker. So, I apologize."

Fingers crossed Ranallo is able to return to the NXT announce table this week.
