Gareth Bale’s relationship with Real Madrid fans and media is untenable.Despite the Welshman playing almost 250 times for the club and winning 13 trophies at the Bernabeu, he’s never been loved by the fans. His lack of interest in learning Spanish and his addiction to golf has grated on the locals in the past six-and-a-half seasons. He’s certainly not Zinedine Zidane’s favourite, either. Then, last month, Bale was seen celebrating Wales’ qualification to Euro 2020 with a flag that read ‘Wales. Golf. Madrid. In that Order.’

It was never going to go down well in the Spanish capital.

He’ll now have to persevere with boos and jeers every time he shows his face at the Bernabeu.

That much could be heard when he came on against Real Sociedad last week - his first appearance since ‘Flag gate.’

But it seems Bale is beyond caring.

In fact, a video has emerged showing the reception Bale received when he went to warm-up for the first time last week.

But most interestingly, it also shows his reaction.

Bale started laughing as soon as he heard the boos and appeared to be relishing it.

It just shows that he really doesn’t care what Real fans think of him right now.

Fast forward to this weekend and Bale was actually rewarded with a start against Alaves.

It was his first start since October 5 but he was replaced shortly after Alaves had made it 1-1.

But minutes after Bale left the pitch, Dani Carvajal put Real 2-1 up - a goal that ended up being the winner for Zidane’s side.

We’re just one month away from the January transfer window and it’ll be interesting to see if any club want to free Bale from Madrid.

The winger pockets an eye-watering £350,000-per-week and there are only a small amount of clubs that can afford that.

No matter how much he earns, surely Bale would be interested in leaving a club where the fans clearly don't like you.
