It seems Jadon Sancho’s German adventure is coming to an end.

The Englishman took the brave decision to leave Manchester City for Borussia Dortmund in 2017 and it’s proven to be a brilliant move.

Still only 19-years-old, Sancho has become a regular for Dortmund and has established himself as one of the most exciting talents in world football.

However, in recent months, the winger has hit some difficulties.

He’s been involved in a number of incidents that have seen him dropped from the squad and fined.

First, he returned late from international duty back in October. It led to him being dropped, fined £86,000 and made to train by himself in the rain.

Shortly afterwards, he was substituted after just 36 minutes during Dortmund’s 4-0 loss to Bayern Munich.

He’s also been benched in recent weeks for turning up late to team meetings and, after his goal against Barcelona last week, told reporters in the mixed zone that he’s “not allowed to speak.”

All is not well.

And on Monday afternoon, a rather sensational transfer rumour started to snowball.

The reliable journalist - and former footballer - Jan Aage Fjortoft revealed that he’s heard from a ‘very good source’ that Liverpool are favourites to sign Sancho.

Not only that, he wants to leave in January.

Could it happen?

There’s no reason why the European champions wouldn’t be able to attract Sancho.

Could they afford him? Yeah, probably. Having not spent money last summer, the league leaders surely have plenty in their coffers.

However, the sticking point is the fact that already have Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino.

Jurgen Klopp has been reluctant to sign a player who would genuinely compete with that incredible trio, knowing that he would have to leave one of them out every week.

If Sancho was to sign for Liverpool, you’d imagine that either Mane or Salah would have to leave.
