Arsenal players respond to footage that shows them 'ignoring' club mascot vs Norwich

A new era began at Arsenal on Sunday.

Following Unai Emery's sacking, club legend Freddie Ljungberg was in the dugout for the first time and oversaw a 2-2 draw away to Norwich.

It's been reported that the mood around the Emirates this season is low - and that certainly appeared to be the case ahead of kickoff last weekend.

When Arsenal players arrived at Carrow Road, they were greeted by a young club mascot.

No doubt, it would have been one of the most exciting days of his life.

But rather than even just briefly stopping to acknowledge him, every Gunners star in the clip below just walks straight past, ignoring the boy.

You can see the video below:

That's certainly not a good look for Arsenal. But soon after the footage went viral, Calum Chambers responded with his side of the story.

"The cameras sometimes only show one side of the story. It’s always great to meet our Junior Gunners mascot in the dressing room before every match," he wrote on Twitter.

"We hope Billy had a great day at Norwich on Sunday and it was a pleasure to meet him."

Chambers wasn't the only player to respond to the controversial video, with captain Pierre-Emerick Aubamayang adding:

"Thanks Calum. I wanted to sleep but i saw these bull***** then wanted to reply but you quicker than me so I go back to sleep a bit."

So, not everything was as it seems. It's important to remember that when videos like these pop-up, there are usually two sides to the story.

It's good to see Arsenal standing their ground as well, but it's even better to know that a young mascot had the time of his life on Sunday.
