Many football fans were understandably puzzled when none of Europe's top clubs opted to pursue Ajax's Hakim Ziyech in the summer.

After a dazzling 2018/19 with the Eredivisie champions, the Moroccan playmaker was reportedly available for just €25m due to a release clause in his contract.

However, no one decided to invest their resources in the 26-year-old and he ended up signing a new contract at Ajax.

Once again, Ziyech has proved that the Premier League's giants and the rest of Europe's elite were mistaken for not snapping him up on the cheap.

That's because the Moroccan is making playmaking look easy once again in 2019/20.

In 19 games across all competitions for Ajax, Ziyech has already mustered 20 assists, including 12 in just 14 league games.

Ridiculous, right? In the Champions League, Ziyech has five assists in five games and he also created three more in Ajax's four qualifying round matches.

Oh and guess what? He's scored seven goals in that time as well, a more than healthy return.

To put his current creative output into context, Ziyech *only* managed 24 assists for Ajax in the entirety of last season.

With December barely a week old, he's already close to breaking his previous record.

He's one of the few players in world football that comes close to matching the creative standards of Kevin De Bruyne and Lionel Messi.

Like those two, Ziyech also produces the goods in big games.

Away at Chelsea in the Champions League, the Moroccan provided three assists in that memorable 4-4 draw, including an outrageous cross for Quincy Promes' goal.

Forget €25m, Ziyech could move for €100m and no one would bat an eyelid anymore.

Is there any Premier League side the guy doesn't walk into? Apart from Manchester City, there is not.
