Jose Mourinho would have been looking forward to his return to Old Trafford. The Portuguese spent three years at Manchester United before leaving last December.Mourinho took charge in Tottenham last month and, after winning each of his first three games, he would have gone into the game against his former side with confidence. But his side got off to the worst possible start in his return to his former club.He watched his side go 1-0 down after just six minutes.

Marcus Rashford's effort from just inside the box should have been easily saved by Paulo Gazzaniga.

But the Argentine was unable to keep out Rashford's shot at the near post.

And just seven minutes later, Mourinho was clattered into by Daniel James.

Harry Winks tackled James off the pitch and his head collided with Mourinho's knee.

It looked rather painful and Mourinho was left limping for a moment.

Welcome back to Old Trafford, Jose.

It could have been much worse for Mourinho shortly after.

Rashford looked in brilliant form and struck the bar with a venomous effort from outside the box.

The English forward also forced Gazzaniga into a smart save.

But it was Spurs who would level proceedings just before the break against the run of play.

Dele Alli produced a brilliant touch inside the box before finishing past David de Gea.
