Jose Mourinho's return to Old Trafford was an unhappy one as Manchester United beat Tottenham 2-1.Marcus Rashford opened the scoring after just five minutes by lashing past Paulo Gazzaniga at the Argentine's near post. United deserved their lead and could well have found themselves two or three goals to the good. However, they went in at half-time level thanks to a sublime bit of skill from Dele Alli before a cool finish to make it 1-1.That was a rare bright spark from the visitors, who looked uninspired for large parts of the game. Marcus Rashford sinks Mourinho's Tottenham

Dele Alli scores stunning goal vs Man Utd The north Londoners then threw it away in the early exchanges of the second half, Moussa Sissoko fouling Rashford and the England striker scoring from the penalty spot. This was a game Mourinho would dearly love to have won.Whatever he said before kick-off, his time in the north-west was extremely tense before he was ultimately sent packing last December. In his post-match interview, he looked visibly frustrated to have lost to his former employers."We start bad. They start well. They score the first goal, they could score the second," he told BeIN Sports."For 30 minutes, they were not just better than us, they were much better than us. Then for the next 15, the story was different, we equalised."Then I thought in the second half, back to normality and to normality was to have control of the game. But when you concede a goal like we did, then it is difficult."While he admitted Spurs started poorly, he also made time for a dig at some of his old players."They gave a few steps back," he added."And then they were clever in the way they were getting fouls and pretending injuries and controlling and then still dangerous on the counter-attack.

"And then we couldn't score the equaliser so I think we were punished by our mistake in the second goal.

"The reason I want to say very clearly they deserved to win the game is in the first 30 minutes they were much better than us."

Perhaps it was that pat on the head from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at full-time that riled him.

It's usually three seasons before we start seeing this side to Mourinho - not four games. Losing at Old Trafford has definitely hurt him.
