Jose Mourinho experienced an unhappy return to Old Trafford with Tottenham Hotspur.

It's almost been a year since the 'Special One' was ejected from the hot-seat at Manchester United, but he returned to the scene of the crime just four games into his Spurs tenure.

In truth, his Tottenham side never looked as though they wrestled control of the game and their goal by Dele Alli - albeit a fantastic piece of skill - came very much against the run of play.

As a result, there was a great sense of justice with which United won the game and it came largely thanks to the performance of Marcus Rashford.

The 22-year-old opened the scoring with a stinging shot that slipped under Paulo Gazzaniga, before holding his nerve from the penalty spot to convert a 49th-minute winner.

Rashford's brother takes to Instagram

Rashford is now just two goals away from producing his most prolific season ever, lest we forget it's only December, and gave a Man of the Match performance throughout.

In fact, his display was so impressive that Mourinho probably wished he had the Englishman back on his side and that's a point that Rashford's brother, Dwaine Maynard, was keen to make.

According to the Mirror, Dwaine took to social media to post a photograph of Mourinho looking disgruntled as United manager on his Instagram story.

What does the photograph mean?

A nice little dig at Mourinho there, but nothing too cutting, right? Wrong.

The image used is actually a very clever one. It shows Mourinho bemoaning a poor miss from Rashford during the Champions League win over Young Boys last November.

Rashford was in the midst of a poor run of form, scoring just two goals in 15 games, and Mourinho's reaction was so animated that it drew criticism from pundits like Rio Ferdinand.

But how times change and Dwaine wanted to get one back on Mourinho as soon as possible.

Sceptical about the specificity of the post? Don't be.

Trust me when I say there are plenty of images available of Mourinho looking disheartened at Old Trafford, so Dwaine didn't pick this exact screenshot for any old reason.

It's quite a petty response when you consider Rashford was deployed 125 times under Mourinho and let's be honest, that miss would have brought an anguished reaction out of all of us.

Yes, Rashford has gone on to produce the best form of his career since Mourinho left the club, but it's hard to raise a middle finger to the Portuguese when he was so brilliant at giving opportunities.

And it goes without saying that both Mourinho and the United players acted with utter class when they interacted on Thursday night.

We'll just have to forgive Dwaine for getting a little trigger-happy with his Instagram story. He wasn't the first person from a footballer's family to do it, nor will he be the last.
