Some WWE fans are still not over the catastrophic ending of Kofi Kingston's lengthy WWE Championship reign.

Kingston was about to hit the six-month mark of his historic title run, only to run into a Beast-sized superstar in the form of Brock Lesnar.

Lesnar was given the opportunity to capture the belt on the first episode of SmackDown on FOX back in October, and straight away fans could tell what was about to transpire.

But they didn't expect it to be so sudden.

Kofi was defeated in just nine seconds, with only one F5 needed to end his reign as WWE Champion.

Becoming the first African-American WWE Champion with his crowning at WrestleMania, Kingston broke down barriers and became headline news across the world, but his reign has become an afterthought now.

With Lesnar now on Raw, he can't carve out a redemption arc for himself, and you wouldn't think that WWE will be pitting him against SmackDown's world champion - Bray Wyatt - anytime soon.

Whilst Kofi was relatively calm about finding out his title reign was about to end, his New Day stablemate Big E revealed that his reaction was entirely different.

"Kofi Kingston is a lot more level-headed than maybe anyone else that I have met in the business because everyone else would have reacted - actually, I was irate when I found out about it and that is a testament to Kofi," Big E told Corey Graves on the After The Bell podcast, per Wrestling Inc.

"I'm not saying no one else in the industry, but very few people would have had that approach, but not many would have taken that approach and not have sour grapes and be able to move on."

It's good to see Big E felt the same way as a lot of WWE fans did on that very night.

Kofi was never meant to even challenge for the title at WrestleMania 35, but Daniel Bryan pushed so strongly for it that Vince McMahon relented.

It led to a great title run where Kingston was booked so strongly, but now that stint has been pushed into the background and he's a Tag Team Champion once again.

Will he get another title run? In the near future it looks doubtful, but you can never say never in WWE...
