On the first episode of SmackDown on FOX, Brock Lesnar dethroned Kofi Kingston in just NINE seconds to capture the WWE Championship once again.

Because it had been so long [two months before] since he had been a world champion, right?

Since defeating Kingston, Lesnar has made two successful and quick defences of his title, against Cain Velasquez at Crown Jewel and Rey Mysterio at Survivor Series.

But with no major pay-per-view until January, Lesnar has gone 'on hiatus' for the rest of the year, meaning that the United States Championship has become the top title on Raw for the time being.

This is nothing new - Lesnar has always been a part-time superstar since his return - but WWE can't go through 2020 with a part-time world champion again.

So here are five men who could or should potentially be the one to dethrone Lesnar at WrestleMania 36 in Tampa.

KEVIN OWENS

Owens is currently getting the biggest reactions, and there's no reason why he can't become the face of Monday Night Raw if he's booked strongly.

His Universal Championship reign ended abruptly in 2017 when Vince McMahon decided to hand it to Goldberg in a squash match, and KO deserves another run with a top title.

He could be the man to win the Royal Rumble match, then take out Lesnar at Mania.

DREW MCINTYRE

For some reason, WWE haven't ever pulled the trigger on McIntyre - whether that be in his initial run with the company as 'The Chosen One' or in his most recent stint.

The Scottish brute was unbeaten for so long after his return to Raw in 2018, but then his mystique sort-of fell a bit flat after losing a few matches on the spin towards the end of the year.

McIntyre is at his best when he's being booked as a brutal monster, and he's got the believability and the 'It' factor to be the one to dethrone the Beast Incarnate.

KOFI KINGSTON

Let's face it - Kofi Kingston deserves a shot at redemption for the awful way he was made to lose the WWE Title in the first place.

He's showed no signs of wanting to win the title back [granted it's now on Raw and not SmackDown] and he's been shunted back into the tag team division with Big E.

A complete curveball would be to have Kofi win the Royal Rumble, take himself and New Day to Raw and he takes the title off Lesnar at WrestleMania - the ultimate revenge.

RANDY ORTON

The Viper was last a world champion in 2017, but his run was pretty brief as WWE decided they wanted to run with Jinder Mahal as the leader of SmackDown for most of the year.

Remember when Lesnar split Orton's head open at SummerSlam in 2016? Orton can say he's got unfinished business with him after what transpired, but instead of a Rumble win you could go down the route of winning a number-one contender Elimination Chamber match.

Orton isn't getting any younger but he's still one of the most over superstars on the roster - and when he downs Lesnar with the RKO the crowd would absolutely erupt.

MATT RIDDLE

Despite this one looking like a completely random pick, there is some substance to it.

First-off, Vince McMahon is reportedly a huge fan of Riddle's work, and he got a huge rub at Survivor Series by pinning multi-time world champion Randy Orton.

But more importantly, Riddle has stated for years that he wants to be the one to retire Lesnar - so why not at WrestleMania?

It's not going to happen, but it would be fun to see, right?
