Dana White has confirmed this week that he has a deal in place with Floyd Mayweather and that the two of them will be working together in 2020.

About two weeks ago, Floyd Mayweather revealed on his Instagram that he was coming out of retirement in 2020.

One of the posts he sent out was a picture of himself and UFC President Dana White sitting together at a recent basketball game. Many of his fans thought this meant he was stepping into the Octagon for a UFC fight in 2020.

Many fans also think Mayweather will have something to do with White's Zuffa Boxing once it launches next year.

During an interview on The Jim Rome show, White said himself and Mayweather got a deal done there and then at the basketball game and that if everything goes according to plan, they'll likely be doing something together in October or November next year.

The UFC President said, via MMA Weekly: “It’s true. We sat at the Clippers game. We started talking and we literally got a deal done right there on the court.

"And if things play out the way things Floyd and I think they will, I will probably sit down with Al Haymon [Mayweather’s manager] in March and get a deal on paper.

“If everything goes our way, Floyd and I would be doing something in October or November [of 2020].”

TMZ Sports also reported back in November that Mayweather was looking to schedule two fights in 2020 in May and September, one of which would be a UFC crossover.

Could the October/November date be Mayweather UFC debut fight? We'll have to wait and see.

Mayweather last competed in an exhibition bout against Japanese kickboxing star Tenshin Nasukawa at the end of 2018.

Prior to that, he had his last professional boxing match against UFC's Conor McGregor in 2017, finishing with a 50-0 record.

The 42-year-old hasn't faced an actual boxer in a boxing match since September 2015, where he had a twelve round decision win over Andre Berto.

Right now, it's unclear as to who Mayweather's opponent will be when he comes out of retirement in 2020, and if he will be competing inside a boxing ring or inside the Octagon.
