Jose Aldo will make his bantamweight debut next weekend at UFC 245, but many fans are concerned about his weight cutting ahead of the fight. For 15 years, Jose Aldo was dominant in the sport of MMA in the featherweight division, having the most successful title defenses in UFC featherweight history with seven as a two-time UFC Featherweight Champion. However, at UFC 245 on December 15 when he faces Marlon Moraes, Aldo will drop weight and compete in the bantamweight division for the first time in his career.Photos have emerged showing the Brazilian fighter a week before his bantamweight debut and many fans are concerned by his weight cut in preparation for the fight. One fan said: "I just hope he is healthy. He looks bad." Another added: "Not a fan of the cut but wherever Aldo goes he has my support."

It's quite clear that there are some UFC fans that don't think it was a good idea for the former featherweight champion to cut weight to fight in the bantamweight division.

The photos of Aldo have caused such a stir, even Notorious Conor McGregor has reacted to them, but it's safe to say he doesn't agree with most fans' opinions.

However, during a recent interview with MMA Fighting, Aldo himself said his weight cut ahead of his bantamweight debut is going well and that he is feeling great ahead of the fight.

He said: “The process is still going on, we’re entering the final stage now. The weight cut is going smooth. I thought it would be more complicated since I never went through a diet before, never did something like this.

"I usually just cut weight during fight week, but this time I had a diet. Man, as incredible as it sounds, I’m feeling great, fast, stronger, so it’s been fine. I have the support of great professionals by my side so everything will be alright.”

Aldo, who holds a 28-5 MMA record, was last seen in action at May’s UFC 237 in Rio, where he suffered a unanimous decision loss to Alexander Volkanovski.

His UFC 245 opponent, Moraes (22-6-1 MMA record), will be returning to the Octagon for the first time since he was defeated via TKO by Henry Cejudo at UFC 238.

While fans will be looking forward to seeing Aldo compete at bantamweight, it's clear to see that there are many that are hoping he doesn't have to cut anymore weight ahead of the fight.
