England have successfully qualified for next year's European Championships.

The Three Lions dominated Group A as they cruised through to the finals.

Gareth Southgate's side will now play a number of warm up games before next summer's finals.

Their last warm-up game will take place on June 7.

England intend to take on Romania before kickstarting their Euro 2020 campaign a week later against Croatia.

However, according to the Daily Mail, there's a big problem.

Wembley is unavailable due to preparations for the tournament, so Gareth Southgate wants his side to play in the north to build nationwide support.

But a number of big grounds in the north cannot host the game that day.

Anfield is available, but the FA have chosen not to consider it as a suitable venue.

That's solely because of their ban on journalists from The Sun.

Journalists from the Sun were banned from Anfield and Melwood training ground in January 2017 following their coverage of the Hillsborough disaster.

Liverpool are unwilling to alter their position, meaning they won't be hosting their first England game since 2006.

Good on Liverpool sticking to their ban of Sun journalists.

Their coverage of the 1989 Hillsborough disaster was nothing short of disgusting.

Liverpool shouldn't be expected to lift the ban simply to host an England game.

The fact Liverpool have banned Sun journalists shouldn't stop them hosting a national game if they wanted to, anyway.

So, where will England play instead?

England also cannot play at Old Trafford as it has been booked to host the Soccer Aid charity game on the same day.

The Etihad Stadium is unavailable as remedial work needs to be done on the pitch ahead of a programme of summer concerts and Goodison Park is unsuitable due to its dated facilities and access issues.

The FA have held talks with Newcastle about using St James’ Park but are yet to agree a deal.

If they are unable to find a suitable ground in the north, it may also be possible that England may give up and play in the south instead.
