Manchester City host rivals Manchester United in the first Manchester derby of the season.

It's one of the fiercest fixtures in domestic football and for decades, the red side dominated.

But in more recent years, the blue half of Manchester has been celebrating.

Saturday's match is important for both teams - City are chasing down Liverpool at the top of the table, while United are pushing for a top-four place.

Both clubs have a wealth of talent at their disposal. But who would make a combined starting XI made up of players from both sides?

Check out GIVEMESPORT's team below.

Goalkeeper - David de Gea

There's a case to be made for Ederson between the sticks, but De Gea still just edges him in this team.

The Spaniard is still one of the best 'keepers in Europe and without him, United might well have been in more trouble than they are.

Right-back - Kyle Walker

This is another position with tough competition. Walker takes his place, but only just ahead of Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

Centre-back - Harry Maguire

The world's most expensive defender is an obvious choice in the backline.

Centre-back - John Stones

Given the injury to City's first choice centre-back Aymeric Laporte, Stones lines up alongside his England teammate.

Left-back - Benjamin Mendy

Recently back to full fitness, Mendy is the strongest option at left-back, ahead of the likes of Luke Shaw and Joao Cancelo.

Centre-midfield - Rodri

Rodri has been one of the Premier League's best players this season. He's a key part of Pep Guardiola's team and could make a big difference on Saturday.

Centre-midfield - Scott McTominay

McTominay has been one of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's standout performers this season. He's already becoming a fan favourite at Old Trafford and on recent form, fully deserves a place in this team.

Centre-midfield - Kevin De Bruyne

Talking of standout performers, there are few better than De Bruyne. He's capable of deciding any fixture on his day and has directly contributed to 14 goals in 19 games this season.

Left-wing - Marcus Rashford

Yes, Rashford prefers to play as an out-and-out striker, but he's also shown promise on the wing. To fit him into this combined XI, we've had to shift him out wide.

Striker - Sergio Aguero

There's no one better than Aguero to lead the line. The Argentine is one of the greatest strikers in Premier League history and will no doubt score a number of important goals this season.

Right-wing - Raheem Sterling

Perhaps one of the most inform players in Europe this season, Sterling rounds off our combined XI. His inclusion was a no-brainer.

So there we have it. GIVEMESPORT's combined XI features four United players and seven City stars.

Perhaps that's an indication of how much has changed in Manchester over recent years. Anything can happen in a derby though and by Saturday evening, we'll know once again who has the bragging rights.
