Nia Jax may be close to an in-ring return to WWE as she has posted a video of herself working in the ring on social media.

Nia Jax has been out of action since early April after tearing both of her ACLs. An injury like hers can keep someone out of the ring for up to nine months, or possibly even longer.

However, it looks like Jax is making great progress on her road to recovery and her eventual in-ring return, as she's released a video of her working out at the WWE Performance Center.

The former Raw Women's Champion can be seen running the ropes in the video on her Instagram account, which included the caption: "Testing out the new knees 😜!"

It's about eight months since we last saw Jax in the ring for WWE, so in terms of her injury recovery timeline, it looks like she's on track.

Her last match in WWE was back at WrestleMania 35 when she competed in the Fatal Four-Way for the Women's Tag Team Championship alongside Tamina vs The IIconics, Sasha Banks and Bayley, and Beth Phoenix and Natalya.

With the Royal Rumble just around the corner in January next year, WWE may hold off a return for the former Raw Women's Champion until then, giving her more time to recover as well.

It's unclear as to which brand Jax would appear for, as she wasn't selected in the recent WWE Draft due to her injury, and she is yet to be officially assigned to a brand since.

Prior to the draft and her injury, Jax was assigned to the Raw brand, and her profile page on WWE.com has her listed as a Raw superstar as well.

However, WWE could decide to move her over to SmackDown upon her return to the ring in the new year, or maybe even to NXT.

Nevertheless, it looks like WWE's women's division is about to be shaken up with the return of Nia Jax in 2020.
