Dillian Whyte made his long-awaited return to the ring on the undercard of the Anthony Joshua v Andy Ruiz Jr rematch.

Fighting for the first time since July, Whyte took on Mariusz Wach having been cleared of a possible drug offence on Friday night.

The London heavyweight looked well behind off his usual pace as his slow movements worried the watching fans.

However, Wach equally struggled to get into the bout and it ultimately made for a rather even affair as it ended up going the distance.

Eventually, Whyte was crowned the victor following a unanimous decision from the judges.

Having seemingly taken a thumb in the eye in the early stages, Whyte struggled to truly impose his power game on the bout but in the en,d he did just about enough.

It wasn't always pretty but Whyte got the job done and will now be targeting a world title shot in the new year.

There are undoubtedly improvements to be made before that happens, but a hard slog on a rainy night in Riyadh was certainly a good start.
