Celtic have beaten Rangers in the Scottish League Cup final in what was a pulsating second half at Hampden Park.Neil Lennon's side have a lot to thank Fraser Forster for, who put in a colossal display.Rangers thought they had taken the lead just before the 15 minute mark when Ryan Jack fired a fierce shot at goal from 25 yards. But Forster was equal to it as he produced a truly world-class save. He flew to his left and palmed the effort out - leaving Jack with his head in his hands.

Rangers then went close a number of more times in the opening 45 minutes.

Alfredo Morelos could have netted twice in the first half but he simply could not find a way past Forster.

And they came close again 10 minutes after the break, but Forster produced another fine save to deny Morelos again.

Rangers were the better team for the opening hour of the game but they found themselves behind with 30 minutes left to play.

Celtic won a free-kick on the left-hand side and it resulted in Christopher Jullien breaking the deadlock.

That was Celtic's first shot on target in the entire game.

And the game immediately burst into life after the opening goal.

Rangers went up the other end and looked they would bag the equaliser with Morelos through on goal.

But he was denied by Jeremie Frimpong - who resorted to bringing Morelos down.

Celtic were reduced to 10-men as Frimpong was deservedly given a red card.

Morelos stepped up to try and get his team level, but he was again denied by the incredible Forster in goal.

Celtic, despite being a man down, almost doubled their lead five minutes later when Mikey Johnston went clean through on goal.

But he put his effort wide when one-on-one with Allan McGregor.

Rangers pushed men forward and could have had a dramatic late equaliser when Morelos found himself inside the box with a great opportunity.

But he pushed his effort wide and Celtic held on to a massive win.

What a mad second half. Celtic have now won their 10th successive trophy in Scotland.
