Liverpool are currently on course to win their first Premier League title.

The Reds are currently unbeaten in their first 16 games this season and have established an eight-point lead over nearest challengers, Leicester City.

As well as being England's leading team at the moment, they of course also have bragging rights as the best team in Merseyside.

But what other teams in English football are the best team in their respective counties?

Reddit user UltraWorlds has taken the time and effort to name the 48 teams that are the best in their county.

Every club's position in their respective leagues have also been listed.

The list may change from week-to-week, but is accurate as of December 8.

Interesting stuff.

Liverpool are the best team in Merseyside and currently enjoy a 29-point lead over Everton.

Manchester City are the best club in Manchester, although that gap shortened after United's 2-1 victory on Sunday.

London is perhaps the strongest county in English football, with five clubs in the Premier League.

They are led by Chelsea, who have a narrow six-point lead over Spurs.

The best club in the West Midlands has fluctuated in recent years, but is currently led by Wolves from Aston Villa, West Brom and Birmingham City.

Elsewhere, Leeds United are the best side currently in west Yorkshire, while Stoke City lead Staffordshire clubs.

Interestingly, ten non-league clubs lead their respective counties.

And a club in the 11th tier actually has those bragging rights.

Rutland is only a small county with an estimated population of 39,697.

And the best club in that county is Oakham United, who are in the 11th Tier of English football.
