Knicks owner James Dolan made the decision Friday after his last-place team endured eight consecutive losses.

The story broke via ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski and has been confirmed through multiple outlets although the news is awaiting an official announcement.

Assistant coach Mike Miller has been selected as the interim coach after Wojnarowski reported that assistant Keith Smart has also been fired. Fizdale, who was half-way through a four-year contract, led the team practice yesterday before being told the news. He held a disastrous 21-83 record since being hired in May 2018 and the Knicks currently sit on a distressing 18 losses out of 22 games this season.

Further sources also spoke of the Knicks' intentions to either re-assign or part-ways with President Steve Mills as they express interest in hiring Masai Ujiri.

Dolan's Knicks are in desperate need of a face-lift having not reached the playoffs since the 2012-13 season and the recent release of Fizdale marks the 11th head coach to go since Dolan took over the team in 1999.
