We are not even halfway through the season and the whole landscape of the Premier League looks radically different.

Manchester City are languishing in third, 14 points adrift of Liverpool, while Leicester are second and Arsenal are nowhere to be found.

Watford have already been through about 12 managers and yet somehow, and Everton said 'cheerio' to Marco Silva after a woeful run of results. However, the aforementioned landscape could be about to change even further after news broke that the Blues have approached Unai Emery to become their new manager.

The Spaniard was binned by the Arsenal hierarchy after a dire start to the season but could walk straight into a new job within only a few weeks.

Having given Silva the sack following their Merseyside drubbing at the hands of city rivals, Liverpool, Everton are on the search for someone who can resurrect their season.

Their surprise 3-1 win over Chelsea hauled them out the relegation zone but there is undoubtedly plenty more work that needs to be done.

They have won on just five occasions so far and will be hoping that Emery - should he take the job - will be the man to send them roaring up the table in the coming months.

The news of the Emery approach was greeted warmly by football fans all over the country who took to social media to express their joy that Unai might be in a Premier League dugout again soon.

Emery's 'Good ebening' comment at the beginning of every interview had become infamous in the football world and now it looks like he is set to take it to Merseyside.

Within hours, 'Eberton' was trending on Twitter as fans poked fun at Emery's accent.

A little harsh? Absolutely.

You also have to admit, however, that it is quite funny.
