Neymar and Paris Saint-Germain has never seemed like a match made in heaven, despite the excitement two-and-a-half years ago.PSG paid that world-record fee for him, of course, hoping to catapult themselves to the very top of the game.It hasn't quite worked out that way. While they've dominated Ligue 1 since, they haven't made any real impact in Europe and it could mean the end of Neymar in Paris before long.It looked as though he'd be heading back to Barcelona last summer but PSG appeared reluctant to sell - especially to Barca.

Despite that, it really does just seem like a matter of time and it's now even reported that the Parisians have picked out their ideal replacement.

That replacement, according to France Football, is Liverpool's Sadio Mane.

PSG see him as a player who can produce going forward at the top level while also contributing defensively - something Neymar never really has.

And few would disagree that Mane would be the perfect player to replace the Brazilian as he's arguably the best left-sided forward in the world right now.

There are only two questions, really - why would Liverpool sell? And why would Mane leave?

Liverpool have no reason to sell the 27-year-old as he's their best forward right now. Who would they replace him with?

If there was an obvious replacement, PSG would be after him instead.

And then there's Mane himself, who would surely need an enormous pay-rise to move as it makes little sense for footballing reasons.

He'd be pretty much guaranteed at least one Ligue 1 title, sure but Liverpool look set to deliver the Premier League title this year.

Not to mention the fact that Liverpool have done better in the Champions League over the last two years than PSG ever have.

One Liverpool fan responded like this:

And that about sums it all up.
