It's been quite a crazy start to the season at the top level of European football with many big teams underperforming.

That's particularly notable as last season saw the ridiculous happen as all five of Europe's top leagues were retained.

Barcelona, Manchester City, Juventus, Bayern Munich, and Paris Saint-Germain all repeated their success of the previous year and football looked quite repetitive.

But things are different this season - so far, at least.

There's the Premier League, where not only do Liverpool look set to win their first title in three decades but City are struggling.

They're 14 points back, having already dropped as many point as last season.

In Serie A, Juventus - who have won the last eight titles - are 2nd, two points behind Inter and only three ahead of Lazio.

La Liga sees Barcelona and Real Madrid on level points but both are only three ahead of Sevilla.

PSG remain top of Ligue 1 - as you'd expect - but they're only five points ahead of Marseille.

And the Bundesliga is the maddest of the lot; Bayern aren't even in the European places after 14 games and Borussia Monchengladbach are top.

It's something highlighted when you look at the teams with the most points over the past nine months.

Liverpool, unsurprisingly, are top of the list with 73 points from 25 games and they're absolutely dominant, 12 points higher than second-place Barca despite playing two games fewer.

After them are Inter, a side who haven't won the title since 2010, one point above City and PSG.

Those two have lost 11 games between them in that time - a pretty incredible number for the world's richest teams.

As for sixth - it's Atalanta. Yes, Atalanta. There's no room for Juve or Bayern or Real Madrid as La Dea forced its way onto the list with a brilliant 2019.

Who knows how things will be in another nine months? It's just impossible to tell these days.
