Artem Bahmet, a Ukrainian amateur, is being described as the worst tennis player in the world after a painful straight sets loss to Krittin Koaykul from Thailand. The match took place at a futures tournament in Doha where the entry is open to anyone and everyone, with the sign-up cost being £27 for all athletes involved.Bahmet won’t be taking home any winnings, though, as he failed to win a single point in his first-round match as his opponent strolled to a 6-0, 6-0 whitewash.Yes you read that right, he didn't win a single point. Not one!Koaykul won 48 out of 48 points to make it officially a “golden match”, however, he knows that tougher opposition awaits him as he hopes to take home the £2,000 prize money. Not only could Bahment not win a point, on many occasions he couldn’t get near the ball swinging wildly at it and missing it on many occasions.Nevertheless, no one could take away from the Ukrainian’s fighting spirit though as he tried desperately to win his first point of the match. However, this was to no avail and Twitter was quick to have a laugh about Bahmet’s disastrous performance. One user wrote: "Looks like I still have a chance to start my tennis career right about now!"

Another said: "Interesting level of tennis in the first round of qualifying for this Doha Futures 15k event!"

A third even added: "I play better drunk!"

One said: "Was that a professional tennis match?"

Many talented tennis players and future stars arise from these futures events, however, it is safe to say that Artem Bahmet will not be competing on the professional circuit any time soon.
