Maarten Vandevoordt isn't a household name.

But the Genk goalkeeper has made headlines for all the wrong reasons in his Champions League debut tonight.

He gifted Napoli's Arkadiusz Milik a third-minute goal in their final group stage match by trying - and failing - to pull off a Cruyff Turn on his own goal line.

Yes, seriously. Check out the footage below:

Oh dear, oh dear. But, we're going to chalk this one down to inexperience.

At just 17 years and 287 days old, Vandevoordt is the youngest goalkeeper in Champions League history.

His debut tonight means he has beaten Mile Svilar’s previous record of 18 years and 52 days.

That's certainly not the way he would have wanted to mark his first appearance.

Liverpool fans certainly won't thank Vandevoordt if his mistake inadvertently impacts their qualification to the knockout stages too.

Things got even worse for the Genk goalkeeper as the first half went on.

Within 38 minutes, Milik had scored a hat-trick and the game was pretty much over.

Vandevoordt's mistake, and the performances of his teammates tonight, have pretty much summed up Genk's Champions League campaign.

The Belgian club are rock bottom of Group E with just one point from six games.

They were beaten 4-1 by Liverpool and Red Bull Salzburg earlier in the tournament and Napoli could be about to hand them their heaviest and most embarrassing defeat of all tonight.
