Inter Milan exited the Champions League on Tuesday after a 2-1 defeat at home to Barcelona.That doesn't sound too bad, until you consider that this was Barca's second-string - they'd left several stars at home as they'd already qualified.There was no Lionel Messi, Jordi Alba or Gerard Pique, while Sergio Busquets and Luis Suarez were sat on the bench.Barca took the lead in the game through 21-year-old Carles Perez on his Champions League debut.Inter had spurned a good few chances before that but they couldn't really complain - Barca's kids were holding their own.

But right before half-time, Romelu Lukaku struck a well-hit equaliser that, coupled with Borussia Dortmund conceding in their game at the same time, put Inter back on course for qualification.

Things fell apart in the second half, however.

Inter had multiple goals disallowed for offside before substitute Ansu Fati scored an 86th-winner.

The goal made Fati the youngest Champions League goalscorer ever at 17 years and 40 days, beating the previous record by over five months.

Dortmund went on to win, too, and that means it's the Europa League for Antonio Conte's side.

It also puts Lukaku back in Europe's secondary-competition - something Manchester Untied's Luke Shaw was quick to point out.

Lukaku had sent out a tweet in October that was simply him smiling at being in the Champions League.

United aren't in it, of course, and it was likely motivation for his move to Inter in the summer.

Shaw, though, simply said 'Welcome back' as Lukaku joins him and his team in the Europa League.
