WWE announced last night that two superstars will be spending the Christmas period at home after violating the company Wellness Policy.

The most notable of the two suspensions is Robert Roode, who only a couple of weeks ago won a tag team battle royal alongside his current partner Dolph Ziggler at Survivor Series.

He was noticeably absent from the main event angle of SmackDown this past week, where Roman Reigns was attacked by Ziggler and King Corbin, with dog food being thrown over him.

The week before, Roode was beat by Reigns in a match on SmackDown and pretty-much brutalized, which may have been a way to write him off television and that he knew his suspension was coming.

There's a serious chance that Roode may not find much success once he returns from his suspension, as you can bet Vince McMahon will want to punish him a bit extra for his misdemeanours.

And he has been joined on the inactive list by Primo, who has pretty much been inactive anyway for months.

The last time one half of the Colons competed on WWE television was on the Survivor Series Kick Off show in November 2018, but since then he and Epico have disappeared.

Both men have been suspended for 30 days, and the nature of their indiscretions have not been disclosed to any news outlet.

Whilst neither man may be a top-tier superstar in WWE, no-one is safe from the Wellness Policy.

Just after losing the WWE Championship in 2016, Roman Reigns was given a 30-day suspension for his first violation, and he's not the only notable name in recent years to fall foul of the rules.

Alberto Del Rio, Paige, Randy Orton and Rey Mysterio have all been suspended in this decade for similar reasons, but Roode and Primo are the first Wellness Policy suspensions since 2016 - so lets hope there's no more to come.
