AIA Group Limited, the world’s largest public-listed pan-Asian life insurance group and current global partners of Tottenham Hotspur, have launched a campaign which promises a commitment to helping people live ‘healthier, longer, better lives.’

The company has been using its position as a partner of Spurs to organise training sessions between the Tottenham Hotspur Women and the champions of AIA’s annual five-a-side football competition.

This year, Indonesia’s women’s team the ‘Drupaldi’ were victorious and enjoyed a session with Ladies Manager Karen Hills and Head Coach Juan Amores. They were given a speech on the values required for succeeding as a footballer, as well as a technical session. Hills stated that she is confident these women will achieve great things and help ‘inspire more women in Indonesia to take up the sport.’

Other women’s Indonesian teams, including Persija Jakarta, have similarly benefited from AIA’s campaign. The side were treated to a three-day training camp at the Thanyapura sports resort in Phuket, Thailand, where they were educated on a healthy lifestyle and improving skills.

Head of Business and Marketing for Persija- Andhika Suksmana, was complimentary of the opportunity, stating that ‘the squad learns so much when training here.’ Current player Carla Bio Pattinasarany echoed Suksmana’s views, saying that she loved the training session and only wished it could have been even longer.

Overall, 110 female footballers were brought to Phuket this year thanks to AIA initiatives. They have also directly engaged with over 40,000 children and young people, with this number continuing to rise.
