Manchester City's Premier League season is certainly not going to plan. After securing the league title in the past two years, the Citizens now find themselves 14 points behind pace setters Liverpool.City have lost four times in the Premier League this season already, the same number that they lost in the entirety of last season.Things are looking a bit bleak over at the Etihad for a change and the players are clearly aware of the domestic slump they currently find themselves in.That's because the Telegraph report that the City players cancelled their own Christmas party last night in order to be in peak physical condition for the game against Arsenal on Sunday.

Last year, Pep Guardiola was not happy about the Christmas party getting out of hand, despite players turning up for training the next day.

The manager attended the initial party, but the players reportedly branched off to a nearby nightclub where they stayed until the early hours - a pretty standard Christmas party for us normal folk.

In the game that followed, City were beaten at home by Crystal Palace and slipped into second behind Liverpool.

If the party had gone ahead this year, a curfew would have been put in place, but the City players returning from Zagreb opted to cancel the event entirely.

To be fair, most of them appeared to have a pretty wild night at Raheem Sterling's Great Gatsby themed birthday party after the Manchester derby!

So if you're attending your Christmas party this week or the next, just take a moment to share some sympathy for City's multi-millionaire stars.

All they wanted was a bit of festive cheer and a couple of free beers, is there no justice in this world?! (Hint: Lots of sarcasm)
